Weather in Mauritius
The north of the island is less exposed to rainy or windy weather as compared to the south or east as it is sheltered from trade winds. Temperatures are warmer there. At night, the temperature will go down by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. The sun sets early and rapidly disappears beyond the horizon at about 6 pm regardless of the season.
Enjoy vivid sunsets on the north coast. If you look closely enough, you might be able to observe the famous “green flash”, especially in winter, when the sun’s trajectory is further north and the atmosphere can cause the light to separate out into different colours.
